about

Marcelle Bradbeer is a Naarm/Melbourne-based photographer whose practice explores landscape, culture, and contemporary life. Her work has been published in Vogue, Rolling Stone, Clash Magazine, NME, and The Age. A graduate of RMIT University’s Bachelor of Fine Art (Photography) in 2018, she was awarded the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) Salon People’s Choice Award and was selected as one of ten Victorian artists to exhibit in the Clyde & Co Art Project.

Bradbeer is a recipient of the 2025 Creative Victoria Emerging Artist Grant, completed a residency at the Fish Factory Creative Centre in Stöðvarfjörður, Iceland, and won the 2025 Pentax Award at the Hillvale Photo Trophy Exhibition for her landscape work in Lanzarote. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including the group show Eyes on Australia in the USA and China, and nationally in solo and group exhibitions.

In addition to her fine art practice, Bradbeer has extensive experience in music and cultural photography. In 2025, she photographed official Sounds Australia showcases at SXSW (Austin, USA), The Great Escape Festival (Brighton, UK), and Reeperbahn Festival (Germany), capturing live performances and press photography for acts including HotWax (UK), Donny Benét (AUS), Ella Ion (AUS), Freak Slug (UK), and Boyish (US). Her broader work includes commissions for Courtney Barnett, Angie McMahon, Teenage Joans, and Jen Cloher, with images featured on album covers for The Cat Empire, East Brunswick All Girls Choir, Hachiku, and Dorsal Fins. She has worked with studios including Newmarket, Bakehouse, and Head Gap, and will photograph Golden Plains Festival in 2026.

Her diverse photographic experience has strengthened her ability to work independently in complex and unpredictable settings, developing skills in composition, lighting, and adaptive problem-solving that underpin her fine art projects.
